This is a photograph from Undie Sunday, a large scale community awareness event that Gray Media Services ran as part of Rotary Bowelscan’s annual bowel cancer awareness initiative. Looking to bring greater attention to the need for Australians of all ages to test for bowel cancer, the event attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest gathering of people wearing nothing but their underpants’. A large scale event that required 550 people to break the record, Gray Media Services successfully ran Undie Sunday within an incredibly tight time frame and with a minimal budget. This image was taken at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital’s 50th birthday launch, which Gray Media Services played a successful part in organising as well as bringing public attention to the facility’s landmark 50 year achievement. The event was one of a number of events and press conferences designed by GMS to draw attention to this landmark anniversary. Previous patients returned to pay tribute and thank the doctors that had helped to save their lives, with GMS also successfully securing high profile government ministers and celebrities to speak at the events, achieving significant coverage and recognition for the hospital.

This image was taken at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital’s Young @ Heart programme launch, which Gray Media Services organised to promote the innovative trial that looked to improve the quality of life for people suffering from chronic heart disease. A ground breaking trial launched with MBF and the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, GMS held a press conference that gathered the leading representatives from each body involved in the initiative, as well as the programme’s first patients in a space that maximised the hospital’s potential for media coverage.

This image was taken at the launch of St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital’s special history book ‘Remembering Them’, which GMS specifically coordinated in order to bring wider attention to the facility’s major redevelopment project. GMS liaised extensively with local and industry media in the planning of this launch, encouraging them to attend through bringing together some of the hospital’s original doctors and nurses to speak at the event, together with leading sports stars and others that have owed their careers to the medical brilliance of the staff at the hospital, creating a sense of nostalgia for Brisbane landmark. This strategy was highly successful and gained St Andrew’s and its book significant media coverage.

This image was taken at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital’s prestigious and exclusive Goldplate Dinner, which aimed to raise significant funds for the hospital’s medical institute. Gray Media Services helped plan and promoted the event that saw 130 high profile guests attend a seven course dinner cooked by a renowned Australian chef. Run in conjunction with a media campaign that successfully generated over $40,000 in donations, this event brought greater attention to the hospital and its services.
