The story so far

Gray Media Services Pty Ltd was started in 2005 by leading journalist Yasmine Gray (nee Kartal).

After years working as a journalist she was frustrated by how many public relations practitioners didn’t really understand the media or know what makes a good news story.

She resolved to start a company that would redress this balance and so Gray Media Services was born.

Yasmine came to Australia in 1989 after a successful career writing for some of England's top 'Fleet Street' newspapers and then made her mark on Melbourne's Sunday Herald-Sun as a leading columnist.

She went on to work for Channel 9 as a presenter for Melbourne Extra and Channel 10 as a presenter for the Melbourne Cup, had her own spot on Radio 3AW and ABC 3LO as well as writing for many leading women's magazines such as Woman's Day.

Moving to Brisbane in 1993 she wrote a column for The Courier Mail, before then editing specialist magazines for a Queensland publishing house.

Seeing a gap in the market in Brisbane for quality media advice and public relations services Yasmine then set up GMS.

Through its results, quality services, professionalism and affordability GMS has quickly grown to become one of Brisbane’s brightest PR companies.
